Nationwide Life Insurance Company's Premium Deferred Annuity enables you to utilize a portion of your assets to accumulate guaranteed retirement benefits in a safe, tax-deferred earnings environment.

General Information:

Fixed Annuities deposit money into the General Account of the insurance company and credit a fixed rate of interest based on the returns of the General Account. Insurance Company General Accounts invest heavily in bonds and other fixed rate investments helping the stability and security of the return on your investment. These products do not expose you to the ups and downs of the stock market. Instead they provide a lower but more stable return, interest rate guarantee periods, and the ability to convert your annuity into a guaranteed lifetime income stream. Guaranteed rates on fixed annuities are based on the claims paying ability of the issuing insurance company.

Guaranteed Life Income - At any time, you can convert your contract to an income you cannot outlive. Several guaranteed annuity payout options are available.

Liquidity - While Nationwide Life Insurance Company's SPDA is designed to help build retirement income, you may withdraw all or part of your annuity account at any time, subject to applicable contractual surrender charges and ordinary income tax. Withdrawals prior to age 59 1/2 may be subject to a 10% federal income tax penalty.

Tax-Deferred Interest Earnings - Your money accumulates in three ways:
1. Your principal earns interest
2. Your interest earns interest
3. Interest that would have gone to pay taxes earns interest
