LifeStyle Allocation Strategies

Asset allocation (how investments are divided between equities, bonds and chas/cash equivalents) will have a significant impact on investment results. The asset mix can be more important to success than market timing or the specific options chosen.

Choosing the correct asset allocation is one of the best ways to help achieve more reliable and consistent returns for long-term investing. The challenge is choosing the correct mix and monitoring it as market conditions change.

Nationwide Financial Network Retirement Services has developed six investment strategies that are made up from a variety of separate accounts. These strategies, providing diversification on both a domestic and global basis, are available to help alleviate some of the issues involved in choosing your desired .

Nationwide Financial Network Retirement Services offers six allocation strategies designed to help make one of the most important decision a participant will face a little bit easier. The single largest factor determining long-term performance is the mix of assets that make up an investment portfolio. Additionally, it is necessary to maintain this mix through various market conditions in order to increase the likelihood of achieving the intended results. These six strategies were constructed to offer participants a variety of risk and reward combinations and are automatically rebalanced quarterly to maintain a consistent underlying mix. This approach is helpful for those investors who feel uncomfortable making their own asset allocation decisions.

These strategies are offered in three different variations:

    1. Conservative Strategy (Domestic and Global): Seeks to provide current income and stability of principal. A small allocations to equities is included to provide the opportunity for capital appreciation and offer some protection against the long range effects of inflation.
