| Other Features Automatic Asset Rebalancing - appropriate for policyholders who are using a specific investment asset allocation formula or model. There can be fluctuations in account values, which will cause the distribution of the account value to be different from the desired distribution. Automatic Asset Rebalancing keeps the distribution closer to the planned allocation. Nationwide Financial Network will transfer policy values among the subaccounts so the allocation matches the current premium allocation percentages. Policyholders can choose to have this done quarterly or annually. Dollar Cost Averaging (DCA) - Dollar Cost Averaging enables you to systematically and automatically transfer, on a monthly basis, specified dollar amounts from one subaccount to the policy's other subaccounts. By allocating on a regularly scheduled basis, you will acquire more units when the value is low and fewer units when the value is high. If the unit value declines, you purchase more of the "cheaper" units and fewer of the "expensive" ones. This does not guarantee a profit or remove the risk of a loss in a declining market. DCA involves a continuous investment in securities regardless of fluctuating price levels of such securities. An investor should consider his/her financial ability to continue participating in a Dollar Cost Averaging Plan during periods of low price levels. Telephone Authorization - enables policyholders to make policy changes quickly. Nationwide Provident will transfer policy values among subaccounts, change premium allocation percentages, or effect other transactions, as permitted by the policy and the Company, based upon instructions from the policyholder by telephone. Third Party Authorization - similar to Telephone Authorization, except a third party, such as an agent or financial advisor, is making the transaction on behalf of the policyholder, either in writing or by phone. Nationwide Provident will record all telephone transactions and issue written confirmation statements. |
