Participant Education

Participant Education
From first-time enrollments to ongoing education, Nationwide Provident has dedicated the resources to keep your employees informed. We provide a variety of materials for you and your employees, as well as Internet services for added convenience and fast access to information.

Keeping Focused on What's Important
At the core of our investment philosophy is the belief that participants need to be educated on those issues that will have the largest effect on long-term investment success. Nationwide Provident's educational efforts revolve around three major topics:

  • The role of asset allocation and the difficulty of market timing
  • Setting realistic future expectations for the various asset classes
  • The matching of a participant's investment decisions with their investment timeframe

    Education Materials

In communicating with plan participants, our Nationwide Provident Retirement Services Account Executives use a variety of materials to assist you in providing a comprehensive educational session. We help you educate your employees about the importance of saving early for retirement, the retirement planning process and the convenience of investing in their employer's qualified plan. The materials made available to plan participants during the enrollment meetings include:

    • "Taking the Mystery out of Retirement Planning" Series - Our "Taking the Mystery out of Retirement Planning" kit includes a lighthearted, yet informative booklet and three inserts that outline the investment process and illustrate how it works with easy-to-follow, hands-on exercises.
    • Plan Highlight Book - A booklet customized for your company that includes highlights from your plan's Summary Plan Description, individual fund descriptions and portfolio manager descriptions.
    • Announcement Posters - Matching posters for you to display throughout your offices announce the availability of your company's plan and enrollment sessions.
    • Enrollment Video - A two-part video that simply, yet thoroughly, explains the investment process and the importance of beginning to save early.
    • Paycheck Stuffers - Paycheck stuffers notify employees of the enrollment period. You can include these inserts with your employees' paychecks or any other mailed correspondence.
    • Newsletters - For the plan participant we provide a newsletter entitled "Future Fortune," designed to help you make informed financial decisions. Each edition contains several articles with practical information on a variety of topics.
